EDI is used in b2b scenarios?.
Can i get more help on EDI?.
Hi.
One easy way you can do B2B EDI using EDI Link. Simply print your document (Invoice, Purchase Order, Shipping Documents, Reports etc) to a PDF and email it to the EDI Link server. It will do the conversion and deliver a clean EDI File to the recipient. Similarly you can receive EDI by emailing/posting a received PDF to the server and get a EDI file returned. Very simple. Here are a couple links for more info:

Hope that helps.

Hi,
In terms of understanding a bit more about the subject of EDI specifically you could try taking a look at [www.edibasics.co.uk|www.edibasics.co.uk] or alternatively if you want to learn about B2B/SAP related integration you could take a look at this resource, [www.b2bforsap.co.uk|http://www.b2bforsap.co.uk/]

Hi Ash,
EDI is a format for data exachnage in B2B scenarios.
XI supports EDI format so that it can communicate across firewalls and business according to specific standards.
XI and EDI
XI and EDIFACT
SeeBurger Provides Adapters for EDI integration using XI. Itemfield Conversion Agent is another means to communicate to a EDI system using XI.

Yes we can use in B2B. It iis most used in B2B and advantage to use EDI.
What is EDI?
Electronic Data Interchange, or EDI, is the electronic exchange of business data. Using a standard format, EDI provides a method of transmitting business data -- from one computer to another, without rekeying the data. This electronic link can result in more effective business transactions.
What does "more effective" mean?
"More effective" means potentially timesaving, and money-saving. Research shows that corporate America generates enough paper each day to circle the world 40 times over. With B2B, paper transactions can be replaced with electronic transmissions, thus time is saved and the potential for error is minimized. And data can be exchanged at any time -- not just when mail is processed. Related business expenses, such as postage, printing, phone calls and handling can also be significantly reduced. In addition, B2B can aid in the support of just-in -time manufacturing efforts.
