Hi Team,

I am creating the characteristics in CT04. In the "Additional Data'" tab, the check box "

Display allowed values defined in characteristic" is available. What is the use of this check box?

Can anyone please explain with some business example?

Thanks

Hi Selva Kumar,

As explained by Ritesh here above, the difference in having the flag 'Display allowed values' set is that the user will be presented with the characteristic values.

In the example below, a Test characteristic with two possible values ('Yes' and 'No') will display like this:

The same characteristic but without the flag ticked, it will display this way:

I hope this help in explaining the difference.

Selva Kumar,

When this check box is not tick mark , user needs to click to see allowed values or use F4.

If you select this check box , all the allowed values will be visible beside the characterstic in configurator, and user needs to select one or multiple value depends upon characterstic type.

If you have test box , run a quick test, create a characterstic without tick mark in check box, then use CU50 to test the configuration for material where thsi characterstic is used.

Then mark the field with tick mark and run same test again, this time all the values will be displayed beside the characterstic name.

Hope this explanation helps you.

Thanks

Ritesh
