Company Code and Plant level restriction for Project defination CJ20N

Hello

I am a new bee in SAP PS. I am looking for a basic requirement where we want users restriction in creating /edit project at company code/plant level. he organizational unit restriction maintained in roles for CJ20N seems to be overlooked and bypassed. The users are able to create project for any valid plant within a company code. I guess this is a basic restriction required at org level but  I don't know why SAP PS doesn't support restriction at this org level, through restriction at profit center/controlling area, person responsible is possible.

I have searched the forum and what I get is "its not possible to restrict the project definition at company code and plant level"

Dear Murad,

Company code and plant are not checked in standard. But you can use the Exit CNEX0002 to define your own authority check.

Please also read the documentation in SMOD for the authorization

exit CNEX0002.

The authorization objects checked are detailed in note 522426. You can

also refer to the notes 536428 and 554415 for more information to see

how to user-exit to make your own authorization check logic.

Hello Murad,

what you can do is to use the "Project Type" field to manage the user rights on PS Elements.

Maybe you can create a set of Proj.Type for each Plant and restrict the user access only to these project types.

I hope this can help.

Best regards.

Dear Roberto

Please confirm if restriction @ company code-Plant level is not possible in SAP PS. Why SAP doesn't have the restricting at the very basic org structure level in PS.

Unfortunately in our case, the project types are used by all the plant and several Project managers. Even if we restrict using project type and person responsible, the entry in Plant field cant be checked and wrong entry in this field will lead to wrong reporting.

Dear Murad,

in PS the Plant is not a standard authorization object, but yuo can add an object as explained in http://scn.sap.com/thread/1516779

Best regards,
