volume policy

My customer asked if there was a way to set/manage volume (policies?) within PI.

I am not aware of anything other than monitoring and then reacting.

Does such a feature exist?

Thanks,

Keith

Hi Keith,

Message Volume/frequency of a system is related to Sizing. You have a PI quick sizer tool which is used for Sizing and it is directly related to Hardware/memory requirements in a production environment. This is handled by the Basis/Infrastructure team.

Another than that, there are Archiving/deletion of messages in PI system and other house keeping jobs which is required for ongoing system maintenance.

Is this what your client is looking for ?

Hi Keith,

Please also check PI best practices to handle performance issue:

You might want to check this document to apply SAP recommendation related to sizing and performance tuning for your PI messages.

You might also apply message packaging ... Please refer scn for this... Also look at performance monitoring screen in RWB to know more about the message sizes of your different interfaces.
