Hi,

i've setup configurable material called  computer - characteristics: harddisk- 100gb,200gb /   screen size-14',15'.16'

i've setup material variant say Model-90010 - with fixed characteristics harddisk -200gb & screen size -15".

- cust can buy computer - configure harddisk & screen size , but if he selects 200gb harddisk & 15' screen size automatically system defualts material # as Model-90010 (this is working fine).

Requirement:

customer can directly buy Model-90010 (which has fixed variants 200gb harddisk & 15'screensize) but he must be allowed to change the screen size -if he selects 16' screen size then automatically material # must change to computer instead of Model-90010

pls. suggest can this be achieved

Hi

We can use a material variant to start configuration and change value assignment as needed.

Provided values are consistent to the model.

Prerequisite is assignment of Material variant to KMAT,please check this and try to simulate with material variant in CU50.

HI ,

It looks, it is not possible , Infact you are deriving the Model-90010 through the Computer.

and in any material variant  configuration will be fixed.Since, it has huge dependencies down to this.

Below impacts may not be sure...

In Model-90010 , you make Computer as a Mat variant again. try this and let us know.
