TOR and Availibility check in schedule line category

Hi All,

If in the schedule line category, if we switch off the availability check and just enable the "TOR". What is the business impact ?

1) does the system confirm schedule lines in sales order.  Switching off will make system not to do  backward scheduling  and ATP check I think.  What difference would it make if system does not do this.  which business scenario would require a Availability switch off ? will the MRP be able to produce goods at the  requested delivery date in sales order

2) If we are switching off the availability check, then enabling TOR  at schedule line category  would enable the system to do what ? How it effects MRP ? which business scenario would require these kind of settings ?

3) In the same way, what will be the impact in sales order and MRP, if we switch off the TOR and enable the availability check in schedule line category

regards

Sonu

Hi Sachin,

For your above question .

Doing availability check in sales order both the check for availability at Requirement class and schedule line category is required. it's mandatory.

If you uncheck any one, then ATP check will not happen which means in your sales order you will get wrong value instead of the data.

Rather than this setting you have other setting also where as you can put no check by which your system will not check.

ATP check is :- Available stock + Inward movements+ outward movements

So if you uncheck the req/Assemble then the requirement won't pass to MRP so it may be a problem,. and in Checking group if you are not blocking the requirement then  it will over confirm your requirement .

So there are the basic settings  for making available check.

The scenario where ATP check not required:- where you don't want to to sell the material from your own stock. like third party sale.  MTO, return order etc..

Hope it will help you to understand.

Hi Sonu,

Please refer to the below thread for your query:

http://scn.sap.com/thread/3394895

Availability and TOR are not required in a scenario where you dont have stock (Non -Stock) and no need of Procurement / Production activities are required.

Please note that apart from Scehdule Line Cat. you can manintain these settings in "Requirement Type" config.

Please let me know for any other clarification,
