We have an urgent issue in SAP CPS for tonight.

All the production systems are down, hence all the CPS queues & process servers are in "stopped" status at present.

Jobs are in "queue held" status for today.

As soon as systems are up and CPS starts running, immediately all the jobs will start running irrespective of the fact that the time scheduled for the job has been in the past.

For ex, even the job scheduled for 9:00 A.M, and the system is up at 9:00 PM, the job will start running right away.

Our client requirement is that only those jobs should run which are scheduled after the system time is up.

Say the system is up at 9:00 PM, jobs scheduled at 9 pm and after 9pm should run, not the ones before that timing.

So, indeed, the only option ahead of us is cancelling the rest of jobs manually as a single selection.

Is there any other way to perform this activity, like multiple job selections for cancellation? or any other opinion?

Hi,

First question would be to ask that .

How many jobs are there ? How many jobs would be running at the same time?

If you have bunch of jobs and you know that they all would be running at the some time close by . what you can do is put all the jobs on hold by

goto calender -> select the job -> right click ->select schedule and put it on held.

So now what you need to track when is the next run scheduler. you can change the job back from held state as soon as the time has passed for the job to run. Job will get calculated and run at that time and from the next run will still be in submitted state. In this you will not have to submit the jobs again.

Or you can select the job and edit Recurresion.

If you have created job chain with settings in Job definition

Act when jobs are overdue

Set overdue jobs to status [None]ScheduledOverdueCancelingHeld

Job will automatically get cancelled once its over due.

If you are using Submit frame in job scheduler then i think below option will prevent this.

Skip when the time window is closed
