Problem with add a component to monitoring - Java from rz21

Hello all,

I want to add a SAP portal NW 7.3 system in our CCMS solution manager based on NW 7.1

When I try to add java component to monitoring from RZ21. I get this error:

No valid XML document received. ( http://portal:50100/msgserver/xml/logon )

I did use correcet OS user (sid)adm and password.

The url http://portal:50100/ is from portal.

When I try to open the URL which appears in the error message:
"http://portal:50100/msgserver/xml/logon"

I get this  massage:

404   Not Found
  SAP NetWeaver Application Server 

  Error: Requested resource does not exist.

I have not any problem to add abap and dual stack in CCMS I only have have problem with java stack.

My guess would be that you didn't enable that portion of the Portal system, since you can't browse there with your own web browser.

I also think you would still encounter this if you attempt a solman_setup > Manage system setup, also.

Is your portal system a dual stack or is it only a java stack?

I tried to Assign Diagnostics Agent in Managed System Configuration I get this error:

SOAP:1.007 SRT: Unsupported xstream found: ("HTTP Code 404 : Not
found")

Web service invocation problem on host solman.dlg.dk and port 8000 protocol : http logical port name : LP_WS_SMDAGENT_MONITORING

I fund this note:

1752309 - Web service invocation problem caused by Unsupported xstream found ("HTTP Code 404 : Not Found") during SOLMAN_SETUP

The parameter are correcet but I have wrong value in SMICM

Any body have the same problem?

That looks like you didn't complete System Prep and Basic Config for Solman_setup; you can't manage a system until that is performed.

As to your original issue, log into NWA on your portal system and verify if you have the application set to started or set to a lazy start (basically if requested):

NWA > Operations tab > Systems sub item > Application Manager

At this point I would suggest reviewing what you have here for your URL, I don't have portal so I can't verify if this is where you need to enable the service/URL or if its in Portal itself.

Also I came across the following in NWA:

Configuration tab > Scenarios sub tab > Configuration Wizard

There is a "Portal - Configure GRMG Customization File" line item that can be executed and may need to be performed before RZ21 can be setup...

Hi All.

I am clossing this messsage, For info. The problem was solved.

When I try to add java component to monitoring from RZ21

The HTTP Port of the Message Server is 81xx and not 50000.

That was my problem

Add host monitoring for Java system in RZ21 and  perform the Technical monitoring for the Java system through SOLMAN_SETUP . Technical monitoring would cover all the elements .
