VA42- New line item addition in contract

Hello Experts,

We have a requirement from user to create a program which will add the line item in particular contract.

We used recording and found that when we press the 'add' button on VA42 screen, its not being captured correctly.

When there are more number of items in the contract, ideally the new should get added at the bottom with sequential line item number.

We also used BAPI 'BAPI_CUSTOMERCONTRACT_CHANGE'. Its showing results as updated. But when we again go to VA43, we see that record is not inserted.

Could you please suggest some coding or new BAPI to insert the line item correctly?
