master data change impact on production order

Hi seniors,

We were told that when a change is made on a material that has open activity, once the production order is done producing it goes to validate the master data to make sure it was produced properly.

If we made a change to the master data e.g. BOM, routing, material master etc and the production order doesn’t match anymore a new planned order will be created.

My question is what fields does the production order look at? And does it do it’s check from the config in ECC or APO?

Thank you,

Neha

Dear,

If you do the changes in any master data like BOM, Resoure, Routing, PV will not impact any open production orders. Until and unless you use the Read PP Master Data functionality in production order.

If the order status is like GMPS, PCNF or CNF in that case system doesn't allow you to use Read PP Master Data functionality. You have to TECO the procdution order and create new production order.

Planned order takes all the changes in consideration if you run the MRP heuristic after master data changes.

Hii Neha,

Yes you right that changes made to material master CIF to APO has open activity, Because it is a delta transfer. So it'll make the impact APO as well.

But changes made to BOM/routing/PV is not a delta transfer, So those changes will only can move to APO either by running IM, or you can run

CFP3- For PPM

curto_create for PDS.

Now coming to second query, update of production order, It is well explained by expert Rupesh.

Hope your query has been resolved.

Hi Neha,

Master Data for Production order is always ECC based. If you made any changes to BOM or Routing for the material which has open production orders, it will not be read automatically.

To make the production orders updated with the changed BOM or Routing, you should do 'Read PP master data'. This will reset the Released production orders back to CRTD status. CNF TECO PCNF orders are not changed. If you want to change them, you have to replace them with new orders only.
