Cannot start db SAP NWCE 7.3

Former Member

Hello everyone,

I’ve downloaded several month ago the trial version of SAP NWCE 7.3

I’m trying now to install it (4 times) and after the installation’s reboot, I still have the same error on the SAP Start:

SAP System status :

fail: nieconn_refused (connection refused), niRawConnect failed in plugin_fopen()

I’ve checked my log files: It appears that the Sybase database is not installed?

I’ve processed each step from the How to guide by SAP.

JdbcCon.log returns :

Error: Couldn't connect to DB
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Exception of type java.sql.SQLException caught: JZ006: Caught IOException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused.

Startdb.log returns :
ASE instance not available
There are no Sybase processes running -
Database is probably already stopped.

/usr/sap/CES/SYS/exe/run/startj2eedb: Terminating with error code 13

I’ve tried in both configurations with DHCP or in Loopback.

Could you please help me?

I’ve seen that SAP blocked the download for the soft, is it due to this?

Thanks in advance !

Best regards,

Hi Mathias,

SAP installer should install the Database software as well.

Could you check in services whether any Sybase processes are running or not ?

Also ensure that you are using Administrator user for performing the installation.

Thank you for your answers.

My hosts file looks like :

127.0.0.1     localhost

ff00::0          ipv6-localnet

[...]              ipv6...

127.0.0.2     sapnwce73.demo.sap.corp sapnwce73

There are no running Sybase service.

However, I think I've found my problem into file /sybase/CES/ASE-15_0/install/CES.log

Hi Mathias,

Could you refer link http://wellrounded.wordpress.com/2007/01/16/sybase-there-is-no-valid-license-for-ase-server-product/ on resolving the license issue

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that.

I think I cannot do any actions with command isql on Sybase because the base isn't installed.

The expiration of the license doesn't allow me to perform the installation.

Hi,

If you've downloaded the trial version here, then you will have no luck according to these posts.

There is a license issue with the Sybase license. It has expired by 30/04/2013 and is no longer valid. That's why Sybase isn't starting. SAP is working on it but unfortunately other issues appeared besides the licensing problem. Further information in the link above.

Regards,

Moritz
