Migration of ccBPM interfaces to NW BPM from PI 7.0 to PI 7.3.1

Hello,

We have a couple of ccBPM interfaces on our PI 7.0 version and would like to Migrate to PI 7.3.1

I do not have any knowledge of NW BPM.

How difficult is it to master NW BPM and how much time would be required to learn NW BPM ? Currently we do not have a sandbox with PI 7.3 version.

Are there any good books , blogs to go step by step for beginners in NW BPM ?  I did find a few blogs on SCN but I am unable to compare ccBPM with NW BPM.

Also is migrating ccBPM interfaces to NW BPM very difficult ?

Can we go with Dual stack installation of PI 7.3.1 and migrate ccBPM interfaces as is without using NW BPM ?

At a later time once I have mastered NW BPM we can do a single stack installation of PI7.3.1 and migrate the ccBPM interfaces.

Please advise.

Thank you,

Teresa

Hello,

Let me tell u my exp...Development of NW BPM is much more simpler and easier (in fact logical also) in comparison to ccBPM, it's just a matter of knowing end to end development steps (like how to create a NW BPM process + deploying + debugging  + error handling etc.) and rest all you will learn as and when requirement comes...

IMO, it's always better to gain new expertise sooner than later, and there are lot of articles present on SDN which will help u in doing the same(u can refer William's article)...

In addition to that you can refer below blog which will tell you how to trigger NW BPM process locally:

Thank you Amit. Since we do not have 7.3 installed yet I am planning on getting access to a system online and try a scenario.

Hi Teresa,

You can find basic differences in the below blog:

http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2012/08/02/differences-between-ccbpmintegrat...

Its really not difficult, but way of implement a Business Process with NW BPM is different.

Hi Teresa,

First you should have system PI 7.31 Single stack system to start working on SAP NW BPM Scenario.Moving to single stack is right decision and very good inversterment for future.

Learning SAP NW BPM not that difficult and once you play with couple of scenarios in sandbox eventually you will become confident.

To build ccBPM interfaces in SAP NW BPM required efforts because direct migration not possible but not difficult

Thank you
