Transports from old deleted clients

Former Member

I have this situation on a small number of very old transports. The development sandbox client was deleted, but was done while open transports existed. Initial message says you can only maintain in the client it is in...which doesn't exist, but the bowels of the help says this:

To transfer the request to the current client, proceed as follows:

1. Go to the request overview.

2. Position the cursor on the request and choose Request/task -> Display/change.

You are asked if you want to copy the request and all tasks belonging to it to the current client.

3. Answer "Yes".

The request is copied to the current client, and can then be edited as normal.

And....the help instructions does not follow what's available under Request/task.

How can I get rid of these old transports.

Hi Jerry,

as recreation is a bit too much effort here in my eyes, I tell you something as "a secret" ...

In this case, you are allowed to update table E070C to your dev-client with SE16N & &SAP_EDIT ...

Have fun,

Volker - I was tempted to do that very thing...but via DB tools outside SAP...but before I break things...I wanted the expert advice. Thanks.

Hello Jerry,

You could recreate that client and one user ID, change owners of those transports, then delete/release them.

If there are only a few of transports, I prefer Tcode SE03 - "Unlock objects (expert tool)", then paste the task/request numbers, choose "set to released" and execute.

Not sure whether there are easier ways to do it.

Best regards,

Victor
