ECC 6 Upgrade EHP6 PREP_Extract/PREIMP

Hi,

I have installed SAP ERP ECC6 and i am upgrading it too EHP6.

Win2008 Server

Oracle 11g

In the first steps in SUM, it has been stopped int he PREP_Extract/PREIMP phase, there is no error

and it is written : "Preimport of tools needed before too import"

it also shows: 'ABAP PREP_Extract/PREIMP is running"

But it has taken a long time about one day only in this phase and i think something is wrong

Can anyone help please?

Dear Experts,

Thank you all for your replies they were all helpful.

but i did as below and it worked:

1. Stop SAP system and DB
2. Restart server
3. Start DB and SAP
4. using command prompt

>cd sum\abap\bin

:\SUM\abap\bin>sapup.exe reset prepare

Enter the path of your root directory [:\SUM\abap]:

Root directory =Enter

=========== Resetting procedure ===========

The tool will reset the whole procedure now.

01)  -  Yes

02)  -  No

=========== Continue Roadmap ===========e? []: y

Current status: [No modules selected]

This procedure has been reset successfully and you cannot continue it anymore

For more information, see the tool guide.

You can clean up the tool directory and start all over again.

01)  *  Exit

02)  - Cleanup and start afresh.

Clearing 18 files from 'G:\SUM\abap\control\dbs\ORA' in 'G:\SUM\abap\bin'

1. delete SUM directory
2. re_extract SUM and start from the beginning

Hi Sohi,

This is a problem due to old ST-A/PI tool.

Before starting the upgrade, run transaction ST13 tool RTCCTOOL.It will show  RED mark on ST-A/PI Addon Supportpackage.

Follow the SAP note described on that screen and update your ST-A/PI version as mentioned there using transaction SPAM.

After ST-A/PI  upgraded to version required, you have to perform Maintenance optimizer in SOLMAN again and create a new stack file.Start the EHP6 upgrade with new stack file

Check your download directory, are all the needed files got downloaded as per stack.xml, is there sufficient privileges for these files to get extracted , check the disk space whether available to get extracted . As mentioned above, use the latest SUM tool (SP08 is released) for upgrade .

Are you using latest version of SUM? Also did you upgrade your kernel to latest version before starting up? Another thing could you please give sapup.log and sapupconsole.log?

Hello

You can check SUM version from

http://<host name>:4239.

You can also cancel whole upgrade, upgrade all kernel, tp & r3trans executables and restart again.
