SAP PI 7.31 AEX in combination with SAP PI 7.31 dual stack

Can we have both the options of SAP PI 7.31 AEX and SAP PI 7.31 dual stack in the landscape. If so, is it a better option than AEX or dual stack individually?

Hi Kalyan,

in sap pi 7.31 dual stack has java and abap stacks. this dual stack has AAE.

in the single stack there is no abap stack presence. it has only AEX.

it depends on your interfaces in your landscape which one to choose.

Hi Muniyappan,

The Dual stack doesn't have all the AEX features, for example, the IDOC_AAE adapter. But from the installation options link you have provided it looks like though we can have a combination of PI Dual and PO.

No. in dual stack also you have this java adapter called IDOC_AAE. i have worked on dual stack upgrade. in this you have option to use classical idoc adapter as well as IDOC_AAE adapter.

Hi Kalyan,

IMO, If performance of interfaces is a big factor in the project landscape, then 7.3 AEX is the way to go. for variety of scenarios 7.3 dual stack is appropriate.

However, Miniyappam has pointed to some links which have loads of information on this topic.
