Hi
I am trying to do Mail to FTP scenario.
In our PI system already SMTP Port :25 is opened and we are able receive alert emails to our inbox.
In my case, I want read mails from the inbox and send to FTP server.
-> shall I use SMTP to read mails from my inbox?
-> If so how i need to configure my sender mail CC (what is Tranport protocol..and URL format)
-> If not, How to configure POP3 or IMAP4 in my PI system.
I have all access of basis..I need procedure document to configure and open POP3 and IMAP4 protocols and ports(110 and 142)
people who has already done Mail sender scenario, please let me know how you configured your PI system to read the mails.
Thanks,
Murali.
Hi Krish,
The default IMAP4 port is 143. If it is SSL then the port is 993.
Url : imap://host:port/folder Path
Give the folder path to read the mail.

Krish,
SMTP is for outgoing mail.
For read mails you can use POP3 or IMAP.
The advantage of IMAP is that you can delete the mail after read and POP3 just mark it as read.

Hello Suhale,
We are using POP3 in Mail Sender Channel, to change it to iMAP4 what are we required to do ?
I am not sure what settings I have to do or what I have to ask my Basis team to enable iMAP4 connectivity.
Also, how will I get the imap4 url ? what is the default port for the iMAP4.. Please help.
Thanks & regards,
Rajesh

Hi Ambarish,
I have gone throug above blogs..
----------------------------
The mail adapter can handle incoming mails, consisting of a mail body with XML or plain
text, and several attachments. To read the mail from your mail server, the mail server
needs access to the IMAP4 or POP3 protocol.
To access the mail server, enter the following URL:
imap://YourServer/YourInbox or pop://YourServer
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
As highlighted above statement,
1) How can i configure my web mail to get access to IMAP4 and POP3
2) Where to do that ? in PI or Webmail?
3) How can I check whether its already been done or Do i need to configure freshly?
Thanks,
Murali
