Hi Abhishek,

What is your SAP system environment which you tend to migrate? Almost all helpful information is shared in previous replies by S Sriram & A. Wahjudi. If you are specially concerned about settings related to HOSTNAME  then better you take the screenshots of all your settings wherever HOSTNAME is reflected or prepare a list of those i.e RFCs, SLD info. etc.

Or else make yourself a little more clear on your requirement.

Hi Abhishek,

The pre-checks is the same for a "Heterogeneous Migration", as Sriram provided you with some links.

What I can advise you to do, as long as this is possible within your IT/Network environment, reuse the same hostname & ip-address physically (and use the same SID), and you can have a different hostname $ ip-address virtually, but this will made your Migration more easier/controllable.

The moment of switch between the old and new SAP system is a matter of OS-scripting and the biggest advantage is that everything will be the same on your SAP Landscape (STMS, SLD, Interface, etc).

I hope this will help you.

Andre
