Valuation category does not allow split valuation

Dear Experts,

I am trying to create a material using split valuation but the valuation category is greyed out.

Even when I try to extend the material and when I enter the valuation type, it gives me an error stating

"Valuation category does not allow split valuation".

Here is what i did.

1. There is no stock in the plant P100 yet.

2. Created a Valuation type EXTERNAL and INTERNAL

3. Maintained Val category as P - PURCHASE TYPE

4.In OMWC, I have activated the val types for this Val categry H

5. Activated this val ctgry P for my plant P100.

6. Tried creating a material and I find that the val category is greyed out.

7. Tried extending a material and when i enter the val type in the screen selection window, it gives me the same error again.

8. Checked if the FSG-220 ( valuatio category) was in display/hidden. It was set to optional in OMS9.

pLZ GUIDE ME WHERE AM I GOING WRONG.....

Just reporting the author's solution because it was very useful to me but it took a long time to be found:

Use tcode OMS2 yo activate split valuation (quantity and value update) for each plant and material type.

Dear Dhinesh,

Have you created material with valuation category in Accounting view 1, then only you can extend the valuation type.

Thanks for your prompt reply. However the split valuation is active for the plant and the valuation category is greyed out in accounting.

I solved the issue myself. The qty and value update was not maintained in OMS2 for the valuation area.
