ARIBA Supplier Network Integration with SAP ECC 6.0

Former Member

Hi,

We are trying to integrate SAP ECC 6.0 with ARIBA SUPPLIER NETWORK, so that Purchase Order could be exchange between the system. We are looking for 2 scenarios -

(1). Send Purchase Order to ARIBA Supplier Network and push it to the supplier using EDI and returning invoice to the ECC system

(2). Sending ERP Order, i.e PO released in ARIBA Supplier Network to SAP ECC System.

My Question with respect to above scenario is -

(a). Can we Integrate ECC using PI directly with ARIBA Supplier Network or we need to use ARIBA Buyers or ARIBA Procure to Pay as well for this scenario ?

(b). What is the difference between ARIBA Procure to Pay, ARIBA Procurement and ARIBA Buyers?

Any integration example or documentation would be very usefull.

Thanks

Subhash,

Here is answer:

Can we Integrate ECC using PI directly with ARIBA Supplier Network or we need to use ARIBA Buyers or ARIBA Procure to Pay as well for this scenario ?

Purchase request is raised from Buyer's System(Ariba Buyer) which communicates with registered Ariba Suppliers internally as you don't want to broadcast the requirement to untrusted suppliers. So you have to Integrate your Backend with Buyer and then internally connected Suppliers can read those purchase order, Create Invoices ..

Ariba has OnDemand ( Ariba Cloud, Latest release is 12S2) and OnPrimise (Known as 9r) standard content delivered for SAP PI. Also they have Ariba Adapter in Place that can be deployed on SAP PI.

(b). What is the difference between ARIBA Procure to Pay, ARIBA Procurement and ARIBA Buyers?

ARIBA Procure to Pay is end to end process right from creating purchase order to pay for the same while ARIBA buyer is a component in ARIBA Procure to Pay who raises purchase order for Supplier.

Ariba also has Integration Tool Kit(ITK) for integrating SAP and Ariba

For More details go to https://connect.ariba.com/AC_Home_Page/ create a free account and you can have access to Ariba support documents.

Thanks,

Sunil Singh

Hello Subhash,

I have integrated using ECC add-on for our company to Ariba for PO, POA, ASN and Invoices. We did the same analysis you did and took the tough journey.

If you have purchase Ariba 9.0 or later then use PI as lots of fields in SAP are not mapped correctly to the version.

If you are using Ariba Supply Chain Collaborative 1.0 or later (Retail) then use the add-on. (converted to cMXL directly). You will need to be on add-on version 9.0 or later as most bugs are now addressed in the latest version

RDS is available the add-on.

Hello Subash,

You can integrate Ariba either by PI or Using a Add-On. If you want to use add-on you need to be in ECC6 Enhancement pack 4 or higher and uses SOA.

The link below has the Admin guide for both options.
If you need building blocks for the same I can fish the document out in the following link.

http://help.sap.com/se4aribanetsnc

You need to download Ariba Network Adminstator Guide for buyer.

Buyer - the Ariba side where PO are raised and covers all the aspect of procure to pay.

Hope this helps.
