Update of Event Message

Is there any possibility to update Event Messages?  (table /saptrx/evm_hdr)

I need to retroactively update the Partner and Location fields on the message.

Have not seen any possibility, in general, to update/correct an event message and related event parameters once it has been posted.

Any ideas/help much appreciated.

Hello Kevin,

the concept is that you don't update existing messages but send a new message to update the EH with new information.

Whatt is your exact use case? Is it a Expected or Unexpected event.

Hi Steffen,

We have a requirement to correct/update location & partner on the actual event messages (expected events).  The situation is that historically, location/partner were not populated, but we would now like to retro-actively populate them at this time for reporting purposes.  Location/partner will be populated going forward, so we just were looking for a mechanism to update the prior posted events location/partner in /saptrx/evm_hdr.

In addition, we have a requirement to build a utility to update event attributes when corrections are required.

Hello Kevin,

i think just updating /SAPTRX/EVM_HDR would not be enough. If you want to update the Expected Event you have to process a new message to be sure that all relevant tables are in sync. At least table /SAPTRX/EH_EXPEV needs to be in sync. As said a standard interface is not available to update Event Messages. Normal concept would be to send a new message. But if you would avoid rule set processing in your case you could write an own report to update the tabes.
