Hi there,
My solution has stopped appearing in the drop down list for reports for Business Process Monitoring.
This has happened suddenly.
It was working earlier.
Can anyone please help me with the possible root cause.

Nidhi

HI Nidhi,
If the monitoring object configured where the data collection is Background which is executed via job BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 on manage system. This Job runs every 5 mins with the help of User assigned to Read RFC connected btw system.
Example shown below, please check in BPM setup in Monitoring objects if "DC in Background" is selected in Monitoring Scheduling tab.
Hope it helps.
Best Regards,
Shravan.
HI Nidhi
Since I am not sure your managed system situation (which ST-A/PI is used, whether correction note is applied), it is bit difficult to analyze the issue in detail. So the best way is opening SAP customer message.
In my past experience, I faced following situation. But not sure it works your case. Anyway I describe how I did in past.
1.Check existing job via SM37 (BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_*).
Remember, you need to switch on schedule status as well and search for lon term.
Probably BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 might exist. (I suspect it exist with schedule status
somehow)
I wonder why BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_2 canceled.. Do you know the reason ?
Anyway, the important point is you need to scehdule BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1.
To schedule the job again, it is better to kick the job via SolMan side again.
So just delete scheduled BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_* jobs.
2.I guess your analytics monitor is configured to collect data in background mode.
So deactivate your monitor and activate the monitor again.
After for a while, if no BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 is running, I assume
BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 starts run every 5 min.

Hi Keiji and Shravan,
Thanks for your responses.
But we restarted the system once(I know, this sounds crazy, but this is how we did it), as per the mentioned link:
http://scn.sap.com/thread/3268775
And regenerated & activated the monitoring objects, with deletion of a few unused monitoring objects.
This worked, for my surprise.

Hi Keiji,
I checked in the system.
You were right, job BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_2 is not running in the system, exactly from the same time and date, we stopped getting data in our solman system.
Request you to please help out, how to start it.
I understand, this is getting triggered by standard user SM_<system ID>.
So, whenever I try to run the program /SSA/EXS, included in BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_2, it throws a pop up message, saying "Not possible to get runtime info job will end ".
Please help, how to proceed.
Regards,
Nidhi

Hi Nidhi
IC, you do not see BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 as well ?
BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_2 is on demand collector (as far as I know)
so whennever 1 is still running, 2 start running.
Do you know why ST-A/PI is used in your managed system (ERP system) ?
And what do you mean, try /ssa/exs ? (execute via SE38 ?)
Or copy existing job from SM37 and tried release the copied job ?
Best Regards
Keiji

HI Nidhi,
I feel may be you check on Few things to lead to the root cause of the Problem.
1) Check if Alert Inbox Collecting any information for the Solution mentioned for past 5 days , if no check if the Data collectors working fine on Managed systems and Solman system with the tables related like DSWP_BPM_TIMESCH and DSWP_BPM_ALERTS by filtering for Mentioned Solution.
2) Check the extractor framework has any errors while collecting.
3) See if there is any upgrade done on plug ins on managed system side, if yes please do the load monitoring again for Solution and regenerate /reactivate the solution.
4) May be restart the solution once if you can, sometime helps.
All the best.Hope it will be some help.

Shravan.

Hi Keiji,
Thanks for the quick response.
My solution is not appearing in Analytics.
It was working well till 5 days before, but suddenly it doesn't show any data, for past 5 days.
Its saying, "No data available for selected timeframe".
Also, when I select Reports on navigation bar of Business Process Operations, select the Solution Name, Calendar Week and Alert Type and Execute the report, it gives no data for past 5 days.
Can u please suggest something on this.
I checked the data cube using RSA1, data is not coming in cube itself.
Please help.
Regards,
Nidhi
Hi Nidhi
IC the situation.
Analytics and the reporting is different. Consist of different data source.
Analytics is based on the Cube 0SM_BPMRH..
(Analytics Monitor write the information to this cube)
Reporting is based on the Cube 0SM_BPM. (If you set transfer BW option flag to your BPMon Monitor, then BPMon result is transfer to this cube).
I guess you have used analytics so I describe the possible check points on Analytics below.
For Analytics, used cube is 0SM_BPMRH. So if you cannot see the relevant data for last 5 days in this cube, I suspect 2 possibilities.
1)Data collection of your key figure in managed system failed due to some reason
=> If you configure data collection in background mode, I recommend you to check
whether BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_* job is running or not.
=>If you configure online mode, I recommend short dump at ST22 in managed system.
close to the defined data collection time.
Timeout issue or some other issue... If the issue comes from timeout, I recommend to
switch on background data collection mode.
2)Data collection in managed system was ok, but extraction to analytics cube was failed
=>I recommend you to check extractor log.
SolMan Admin workcenter => Infrastructure=>framewok=>extractor framework
=>check "BPMon Transactional Data Extractor"
Whether this exractor raise any error or not.
Also please check whether there is some change in managed system side.
For example, ST-A/PI upgrade.
Since above analysis requires certain knowlege, I recommend open SAP customer message.
Then expert can analyze by checking the system.
Best Regards
Keiji
