Installation of SAPsprint on Windows 2008 x64bit SP2

OK, installed the latest xSPrint730_5-20009690 file to our Windows 2008 SP2 x64 server to replace our old Win 2003 SP2 x32 server.  Seemed to install OK, but our HOST system does not see it.  I get the following error message "Unable to reach the remote host spool system".  I've tried installing Windows built-in LPD service and it seems to work fine, so should I even bother?  Are there any known issues?  SAPsprint worked fine on my Win2k3 server, what gives?

I can also confirm that SAPSprint runs fine on Windows 2008 R2.  Granted I am using 7200.3.7.14 (according to sapsprint.dbg).

Did printers exist before the installation of SAPSprint? I have noticed that adding new printers without restarting SAPSprint can some times be an issue.

Firewall settings?

Any useful information in the SAPSprint logging?

I would also think the only down side to not using SAPSprint if you have LPD working with Windows is the various options provided by SAPSprint...

Dear Andrew,

Does HOST system stand for SAP system?

Maybe there is a Port-Issue. Did you try to reconfigure ports for SAPSprint and in SPAD?

Or is the new windows server not at all reachable from your SAP system?

Kind Regards,
Lukas
