Hello,
Is it possible to copy a GW Service like /IWCNT/SG_DOCUMENT and modify it in the SAP Gateway Service Builder (SEGW) and if yes how do I do it?
Regards Jan
Hi Jan,
no, this is currently (SP6) not possible.
One way to get a "copy" of the service would be to download the $metadata document and import it into the Service Builder.
You would then have to implement the CRUD methods manually.

Andre

Hi Tejas,
this is only an option to copy the project in Service Builder.
The service Jan has mentioned has not been built using the Service Builder.
And it only copies the model (including the mapping of RFC function modules) but not the service implementation.
What Jan is probably looking for is the following option:
Extending an OData Service Using Service Builder - SAP NetWeaver Gateway - SAP Library
This way it is possible to generate a new service using Service Builder based on the existing service.
The developer has then the chance to redefine existing methods of that generated service.
Best Regards,
Andre
