Subcontracting in SAP variant configuration

Hi All,

It will be a great help to me if anybody can explain me if Subcontracting is possible in Variant Configuration. If it is then how it can be carried out?

What type of settings should be observed to let it happen?

Actually I am exploring a solution where I want to procure a KMAT material with BOM from a Vendor.

Is it possible?

Hi Rahul,

question is not clear... what process are you following... you are providing the components to the vendor and he suppliying the finished material...

If the process is same as above.. then make the following extra settings other than your standard VC settings..

for header material  make procurement type F, specual procurement 30 in the material master...

when you do the MRP run you will get subcontracting PR, which will contain components dynamically selected from super BOM....based on the characteristics vaule assingment in the sale order....from here follow normal subcontracting process.....

test this and come back....for any issues...
