Forwarding alerts from Solman to 3rd party tool

Dear Experts, We have got a requirement for customer wherein they are willing to integrate SAP Solution Manager System to a third party tool CA SOI(Computer Associates Service Operation Insight). CA SOI would be used as central event manager tool.

Basic requirement is “How SAP Solution Manager can be connected to CA SOI” so that alerts getting generated in Solman can be forwarded to CA SOI.

I am investigating on the possible ways(protocols) with which this integration can be achieved( I understand, probably by installing adapters on Solman as well as CA SOI)

Any pointers on this would be really helpful.

Hi Amber

the above guide explains the integration mechanism of solman service desk with 3rd party based upon webservices

as per my last discussion with SAP it is not possible to forward the alerts in standard, we were searching forwarding BPM alerts from solman to 3rd party system

therefore you have to go for huge development based upon what is supported by 3rd party

Thanks for the inputs Prakhar. I think SNMP happens to be the most compatible one considering the third party tool accepts and understands the SNMP trap protocol.

Hi Amber,

previous customer we did it for service desk without any adapters

First of all, i suppose you should understand what is required by this CAS SOI... For example, if this software can receive common emails, you don't need again any adapters

Let me know more details

Dear Andrea, Thanks for your reply. Basically all the alerts generated in Solman needs to be forwarded to SOI. Like File system, System availabilty, Database specific alerts etc.

Triggering via Emails is a good option, However mail flow would be too high - I am looking for some adapter kind of solution where in data is fed to SOI in a package and then further it could be populated in tool. 

So far I have located SNMP trap adapter protocol, But looking for more options.
