Only for update on that forum a post from David Birkenbach about ITILv3 compilance and solution manager.

Original Post:

http://scn.sap.com/people/david.birkenbach/blog/2013/05/23/sap-solution-manager--itil-pink-verified

.....

The award is a milestone for SAP Solution Manager:
The ITIL certification proves that SAP Solution Manager provides predefined processes which are 100% aligned with best practices according to independently defined IT Management standards.

But SAP Solution Manager is even more compared to other ITSM tools in the market. The high degree of integration between IT and Business, Applications and Infrastructure, Implementation and Operation, as well as Monitoring and Execution makes the difference by choosing SAP Solution Manager as the ITIL tool of the next generation.

SAP is the first and currently only vendor awarded in all 15 certifiable ITIL processes of the Pink Elephant’s PinkVERIFY ITIL v2011 edition certification.

Hello Luis, as far as I understand :

Availability Management = Technical Monitoring

Capacity Management = EWA and Solman dashboard from Technical Monitoring

Event Management = Technical Monitoring and Business Process Monitoring

Financial Management = KPI dashboard and SolMan ERP integration

ITSCM = tbc

Release and Deployment Management = ChaRM and Release Management like MOPZ

Request Fulfillment = Incident Management and ITSM (request management)

Service Asset Configulation Management = LMDB

Service Catalog = Service Catalog like CRM Service

Portfolio Management = Project and Portfolio Management

This is my understanding, so not complete.  need verification from other experts.

Thank you, Shiroh

hi,

you can see all sap's 15 processes got processed for itil certification here

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SAPITSM/SAP+Solution+Manager+-+ITIL+Certified

solman build up on the the ITIL processes, this was i felt, in all the solman standard courses, atleast 2 to 3 chapters talk about how solman is the tool for itil process.

Even you can get the separate SAP standard training for the same

https://training.sap.com/v2/course/sm530-itil-with-sap-solution-manager-e-learning-062-us-en/

Hope this could also help you.
