Unable to Change Reported By

Is there a way to change  Reported BY after being selected ?. Once "Reported By"  has been selected all edit capabilities of the field are not allowed. For example if you created a incident and you select a wrong person - the incorrect person will be entered in the field. Once selected you will not have the ability to change to the proper person

Run tcode SPRO find partner determination procedure and mark field changable for reported by field.
