SAP Gateway Central HUB requirments

Hi Experts,

We are looking at installing a separate gateway (SAP Gateway 2.0) server or NW 7.4
server stack to act as a hub for mobile applications that talk to SAP and
non-Sap systems.

We are currently using NW 7.0, Could you please confirm what Gateway components are
needed for this. Should we go with NW 7.3 and install require components or
should we go with NW 7.4 where require components are already available I believe
but not sure.

Hi Sunny,

To setup a dedicated SAP Netweaver Gateway Hub System, you can follow out of these two approaches:

1) SAP Netweaver 7.4 AS ABAP: This system will come with pre-installed Gateway Components such as GW_CORE, IW_FND, IWBEP & other complimentary optional Gateway addons.

SAP Mentioned this is in a Gateway workshop that onwards Netweaver 7.4 gateway will come out of the box, however separate licenses for Gateway is required (In PRD).

2) This was an earlier approach, you set up a supported Netweaver AS ABAP system  and then you install gateway addons accordingly. You also need to install a IWBEP add-on on your back-end system accordingly. For validation of appropriate SAP Netweaver platform for second approach please check master/installation guide mentioned in below link.

If you don't have any restrictions, you can probably go ahead with SAP Netweaver 7.4 AS ABAP with out of the box SAP Netweaver Gateway components.

You are right, SAP NW 7.40 SP1 has all the components necessary for gateway 2.0.
