Hi Experts,
I have a doubt .Can I please have your thoughts .
SAP System B ( DB=MSSQL ) is up and running. This system was installed as part of homogenous system copy from SAP System A on 28/06/2012.
I have transactional logs for system A from 28/06/2012 till today.
Now can I apply transaction logs of system A to system B ?. [ Note : DB of System B is online state so do I have to put database in RESTORING state for applying logs ? ]
Regards,
Arpit.
Hi Arpit,
second time, same answer no you can't.
If you plan to apply further transaction logs you need to leave the DB in state 'restoring'.
Once you have opened it applying further transaction log backups is not possible anymore.

Beate

Hi Arpit
In MS SQL every day you can truncate the Transactional log and also you can perform this process online (its not require to bring DB in restoring
mode)
Kindly go thru the SAP Note 1420452 - FAQ: Restore and recovery with MS SQL Server - FAQ - 17
Thanks
