Hi,

What's the version of your system?

Please double check the STMS directory where you are placing the file is same as mentioned in the profile of portal.

Please check what is the version of kernel in your system currently. Don't use DISP+WORK as in case of only java system this file is not replaced by sap tools usually.

Check the date of the latest files in the /usr/sap/SID/JC*/exe and /sapmnt/SID/exe.

Copy the correct Kernel files related to OS and hardware and unicode.

If its NW7.3 and above you need to use SUM tools.

JSPM will still work for NW7.0X system but not recommended by SAP.

Vivek,

If you are only upgrading/patching kernel, it would be a lot better if you use the classical kernel patch/upgrade approach i.e backing up the kernel and loading the new kernel in /sapmnt/<SID>/exe and then synchronizing the kernel to local installation directory.

This above method is usually fail-safe and fast.

Moreover, JSPM is out of support now, SUM has taken over the JSPM tool for maintenance tasks.

Hi Vivek,

Which kernel version you have downloaded?

Also check /EPS/in directory , it might contain duplicate kernel sar file.
