SAP HANA & SAP Portal ??

Hello Experts,

I am kind of new to SAP, but knows good Java and have learnt and have quite a good hands on SAP Portal Technology. I am now hearing a lot about SAP HANA

SAP HANA seems to be for BI/BO guys, but then i learnt about SAP Cloud on Portal which utilizes SAP HANA as database.

My question is :

How does SAP Portal co-relate with SAP HANA. Is it only the Portal on Cloud that a Portal consultant can interact with SAP HANA ??

Or SAP HANA is a different technology all-together and anyone can learn SAP HANA ??

SAP HANA is a database.

But it also contains an Application Server.

SAP HANA is not only for BI/BO guys as there are many other things.

Now we can use HANA for Web Development also and for that we use JSON, JavaScript, OData, JQuery and SAPUI5 along with HTML 5

There is no prerequisite to learn HANA and anyone can learn SAP HANA

According to me SAP Portal co-relates with SAP HANA through Cloud only.
