Dear Gurus,
I am migrating our SAP ECC 6 EHP 4 System from Windows 2008 to IBM AIX7.1 . The database in Source system is Oracle 11.2.0.2.0. Can I directly installed 11.2.0.3.0 in my Target System. Or I have to go with 11.2.0.2.0 only.
In short Source and Target DB Patch level should have to be same ??
Reply please.
Regards,
Nilesh
Yes this is possible, because you have to export/import the whole database anyway.
Usually you do an initial install of the target system with the desired level first. Then depending on the size of the database you do one or more tuning runs to get parallelization and packaging right. Then you do the final migration.
The real SAP and Oracle installation only has to be done the first time, then you really only reload the database.
Cheers Michael

Hello
The quick answer is YES
You can go for the latest patch set of Oracle 11G 11.2.0.3 during the target system build or import.
