Is IDT DF based on user-defined ABAP function module impossible ?

Hi,

I want to create Data Foundation based on user-defined ABAP function module using IDT.

But user-defined ABAP function groups are not shown in the list of DF connection ,

so I cannot select user-defined ABAP function modules in them in my testing.

I guess ABAP function groups of X* and Y* (naming for use-defined ones) are excluded from the list.

Is it a limitation of IDT DF ?

Or is there anyway to make user-defined ABAP function groups shown when creating DF ?

Thank you in advance,

Regards,

M.Sugihara

Hi,

this is definitely possible through the Crystal client, using its direct access driver..

through the semantic layer, there may be some limitations - but it is also definitely possible using the ERP diver.

please refer to the Data Access guide here: http://help.sap.com/bobip41#section5

see section

6.4.3 SAP ERP Driver - Access to ABAP Functions

Hi Banks,

Thank you so much for your feedback.

I understand it is possible from the driver standpoint of view.

But what I want to know is how to make IDT to show  ABAP function groups of X* and Y* (naming for use-defined ones).

My IDT does not show user-defined ABAP function groups as followings.

Can I say it may be a bug or the problem of only my IDT ?

Hi

For custom developed function modules to be displayed in IDT/be visible in IDT, these need to be remote enabled.

In transaction SE37 on the SAP ERP system, select the function module, click on the attributes tab and select the option:

  • Remote-Enabled Module

This will then expose the function module to external systems.
