Serial number in PO

Hi,

We have a requirement in which some line items for which ASN needs to be sent has to have a serial number. How can we indicate in the PO that the material would require serial number in the ASN so that the supplier can put the serial number while the ASN is done

For a single line item the material/product must be same.

As the material has some material code, why do you need some serial number to associate with?

Can you please explain the business requirement of serial number for product?

While doing the ASN, supplier should differentiate the materials for which serial numbers are required and the ones for which it is not required. Can you check and let me know

We need the vendor to differentiate to send serial numbers along with ASN for some of the items which require serial number. How can this be done

Hi Philip,

Serial numbers are integrated at item level and at handling unit (HU) level. While creating ASN in WebUI you can assign a serial number there.

Below validations are available too.

ASN_PRODUCT_CHANGE_SERIAL

SERIAL_ID_EXCESS

SERIAL_ID_UNIQUE
