RFC Error: User does not have authorisation for InfoProvider, BO-BW authorisation

Hi All,

Appreciate if you can provide some pointers on this:

BO Tool: Information Design Tool

Situation: We have a group of super users who will be using the IDT to connect to BW (JCo) and later on, build data foundation and business layer.

Thus, we are required to create role and assign it to their BW userid. We've include the business warehousing bench, rfc objects, and analysis authorisation in the role.

We've tested that:

1. Test_user is able to create a connection to BW - > data foundation ->business layer  --> publish -> open with WebI

Problem: While refreshing the query in WebI, we hit this error

we have already given display, maintain, and execute rights to all cubes. what else could have possibly caused this error?

thanks!

Hi yee,

Please check the below note and threads to see if they address your issue. Also, please give your BO and BW versions including service pack and fix pack

Hi Mallik,

thanks for your reply.

we are currently on BW version 7.1 and BO  BI platform 4.0 SP5 Patch 4

Seems like it's due to a restriction place on S_RS_AUTH object

found that if we grant 0BI_ALL to the user ID, the query runs fine. when we apply the analaysis authentication again, we are getting back the same error message.

wondering why?

How about doing an authorization trace (ST01) on BW side?

Hi,

Please have a look at following SAP note: 1604227 - Error testing Relational connection to SAP BW system using SAP Java connector.

Please check if user you are using in connection has appropriate authorizations in BW as mentioned in above mentioned SAP note.

thanks for the replies

Hi Victor - we've done the trace and it's pointing to BtcAuthSet. however we can't give 0BI_ALL to users.

however when we execute report from rsecadmin to test the authorisation (execute as test_user), the authorisation seems fine. and we have already import the role in CMC.

Hi Aashutosh - we have included all the specified authorisations as listed in the note. However we are still getting the error.

we've even import the role from bw to BO...
