Are there dependences between the OCI-releases and SRM-releases?

Hello at all,

could anybody tell me, if there is a dependence between the different OCI-releases and the SRM-releases. For example is the release OCI 3.0 compatible to SRM 5.0?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Boris

Hi Boris,

There is no dependancy in SRM for particular OCI releases, the only dependancy is that an external catalog if used in SRM_SERVER must be OCI compliant in order to communicate with the SRM system. There are some variations between earlier to later OCI releases in which parameters will be available in which OCI release, i.e. NEW_ITEM-DESCRIPTION etc

OCI 4.0 has the most comprehensive range of OCI values at present and is delivered/used with the latest supported SRM versions.

Hello Atul,

We are on release SRM5.5 and find that if EXT_CATEGORY_ID is passed, then SCHEMA_TYPE is required in order to do mapping. To me that says that SRM 5.5 requires OCI 4.0 as per SAP even though in configuration we state 3.0 due to the fact that our catalog provider can only support 3.0 as this time.

So I think that means there is a dependency to a certain degree, right?
