Outbound Delivery Split

How to split Outbound Delivery based on Stock Check?

If I am picking a Material stock from one bin an Outbound Delivery should be created, if the same material is picked from another bin then another outbound delivery should be created.

Is this possible to achieve? Does standard SAP support this?

Please Suggest.....

Dear Ravi,

As you know, OBD is either with reference to sales order or purchase order and TO is wrt OBD. In other word, OBD is created upfront and TO created later-on. Therefore if you want to establish relationship between OBD and BINs then you have to anticipate the relationship upfront i.e. before creation of TO. Second thing is the requirement is not seems to be feasible as there are thousands of bins in SAP WMS system. Hence to create the OBD for each bin is not at all advisable.

But still you can think of below options

  • (1) Create one  TO for each line items of OBD. Maintain the  WMS configuration of OLML-------->WMS---------> activity----------> Transfer-------->processing performance data/TO spilt.  Make sure in define profile tab of configuration---------> define profile for performance data flag split single TO.

  • (2) You can maintain the rule of one OBD containing only one material number which might be distributed in multiple bins but you will have single OBD for single material.

  • (3) You can group the bins and assign the picking area to it. For this, create the picking area and then assign it to group of bins in LS11 or LS02N.  Maintain the  WMS configuration of OLML--------->WMS---------> activity--------->Transfer---------->processing performance data/TO spilt.  Make sure in define profile tab of configuration----------> profile for transfer order splitting, flag the split picking area for your warehouse. There would be one OBD and multiple TOs based on picking areas.  In other word instead of delivery split you can split the TOs

  • (4) This option is not good but you can consider it  in case you don’t have too many shipping points. You can achieve the delivery split based on shipping points. But you should evaluate the WMS  criteria on the basis of your need to split the delivery and accordingly define the shipping points and assign it in sales order itself.  Maintain the shipping point determination configuration by creating  different shipping conditions (as per client requirement) of materials in the bins and achieve the shipping point determination. When you create the OBD, it will be split based on shipping points.

Hi Ravi,

Outbound delivery will be created based on STO, not based on BIN quantity. You can create separate Transfer Order based on BIN stock quantity against Outbound delivery.

Hi Jinoy,

Standard SAP does not allow Partial Goods Issue. If I have an outbound delivery with one material but distributed in four different bins. I am able to achieve creation of four different transfer orders, but unless and until all the four transfer orders are confirmed system does not allow me to post goods issue.

Hi Ravi,

The system is expecting the Transfers orders to be confirmed before allowing you the PGI. TO confirmation implies that the stock is moved out of the storage in warehouse to the Shipping area deliveries(st. type 916). Unless this happens you can't do the PGI.

This process corresponds to the actual physical movement in the warehouse as well. The warehouse operator takes the stock from storage ( either manually/or thru RF scan) and places them to shipping section. Post this if you have RF setup, then TO is automatically confirmed, or, if you have manual paperwork then TO has to confirmed individually.

you can check transaction VLSP and the configuration in transaction OVDSP. That's it.

It's not possible. In standard SAP, picking happens with referring to delivery.

I don't think this is possible in std sap. The delivery type allows you to select the picking storage location, but, it won't allow you to storage bin level.

What difference would it make by creating different deliveries? You can always pick the relevant deliveries using outbound delivery monitor VL06O.

Hi Sushant,

Does Standard SAP WMS support Outbound Delivery split based on Storage Section?

Hi Ravi,

Storage section would never come into picture when you are dealing with outbound delivery.

The picking process takes into account the picking area.

for Stock placement -> storage section

for stock removal -> picking area.

This is the basic org structure in WM.
