Hi Experts,
I am doing one File to File interface. My scenario is a simple pass through (No Mapping), where I have to pick a .csv file from FTP server and need to place the same file into SAP directories (AL11).
So please guide me which protocol I need to use (FTP/NFS) in receiver File channel to place the .csv files into SAP.
Thanks in advance.!

Hi Raj,
I have worked on the same scenario and got success.
In Receiver side u should use NFS protocol. But before that u should ask PI basis teAM TO DO A NFS MOUNT between SAP and PI system the only it will work.

Hi All,
Thanks for your reply.!
I have completed the scenario and tested till PI Al11 directories using NFS protocol.
Now the problem is /usr/sap/temp directory is not shared between PI and ECC.
So I think I can not able to use the NFS protocol in receiver.
Please suggest me a way how I can place this files into SAP AL11.

Hi Raj,
if you are placing the file in PI directory /usr/sap/tmp then you no need to mount anything. you can use NFS protocol to place the file.
if you are placing the file in the directory /usr/sap/tmp which is local to ECC then the directoy should be mounted to PI then only you can place the file via NFC protocol
Cheers,
Hidayat
Hi Hidayat,
Thanks for your reply..
Initially I have developed this interface using NFS protocol in Receiver file channel, during Unit testing client is telling that they didn't MOUNTED the /usr/sap/temp directory between PI and SAP (not shared directory).
My question is whether we can use FTP protocol or not in File receiver if they provide the Host, port and user credentials of SAP..!
Please suggest me..!

Hi Raj,
if you have to place the file in PI application server file system then you can use NFS protocol but you mentioned filesystem is not mounted.
Is there any reson why file system is not mounted to PI app server? is there any other directory mounted to PI app server?
i guess PI is running on unix/linux then check with unix/linux team, if they are unable to mount the /usr/sap/tmp directory then request them to create a FTP on AIX file system and map the file system to any of PI application server directories..
other alternative is to put the file in any of the shared directory (windows) but i guess your requirement is to put in the PI app server then you have to follow the above step.
Cheers
Hidayat
Hi Hidayat/Preethi,
Thank you.
I don't know the reason why they didn't mounted the directory between PI and FTP, just they are asking me to find a way to place the .csv files into ECC AL11 directory.
So if they provide the Host name, port and Login credentials, is it possible to complete this scenario..please suggest me..!
Thanks in advance..!

Hi Raj,
A few cents, another example of file to file scenario without esr objects: http://www.saptechnical.com/Tutorials/XI/File2File/Demo1.htm
You talk about AL11 directory, is this directory available by PI? then you should use NFS protocol, is in another SAP system not directly available by PI?, then you should evaluate FTP or SFTP.

Hi Raj,
If you need to place the file in same system(AL11) you need to take NFS in receiver side.
then the file will be placed in AL11 directory.
Thanks,
Naveen.

Hi,
Since your receiver side file has to be placed in SAP directories(AL11 t-code), choose NFS for receiver & no need of any ESR objects since you just want to pick & drop file i.e the steps in below link:

Hi Raj,
If the directory is mapped in AL11 of PI, then use NFS.

Hi,
in sender channel FTP in receiver NFS
there are many guides on SDN which show how to do this scenario, please search for them,
