i am using NWDS and building Web AS apps. What sort of options do i have if i need a CVS? NWDI?
Thx
Indeed you need NWDI. All information regarding this can be found at : <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/03/f6bc3d42f46c33e10000000a11405a/content.htm">Working with the Development Infrastructure</a>.
There are three flavors of the NWDI (<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/0d18d725301a78e10000000a1553f6/content.htm">details</a>):
1. Team-Development
2. Track
3. Layered

Hi,
we used CVS for a while by integrating it with the CVS eclipse pluggin.
<b>I wouldn't recommend this</b> . Some metadata is not maintained properly if you use this setup which renders some features of NWDS unsharable.
We're presently doing a proof of concept on the JDI and I find it easier using the whole JDI than just the team development flavor. There are more features and the lifecycle of your development (DEV, CONS, QA, PROD) is supported by CMS.
Good luck.
