Variant Configuration in background

Hi All,

We have a requirement to perform cu50 in background.

We want to transfer the configuration result to an external system.

We have a configurable material, which has one characteristic.

This value of this characteristic determines, which items has to be selected during BOM explosion.

Say, Material is A1, which has "Option" as a characteristic.

"Option" charcteristic has 3 values, Europe, N.America, Asia

So CU50 has to be run 3 times, for each value options, and the consolidated result has to be sent to an external system.

I read many threads, but couldnt find a clear solution anywhere.

My expectation is any FM where I can give the confgurable material, and the value of the Characteristic.

Any suggestions?

Hi All,

I m closing this thread.. It seems, the best option is to store the configurations as "Material Variants" and update through program while there is any change to Characteristic Value assignment.

How to update Material Variants is available in this thread.
