Dear All,
I have just successfully upgraded the AWS HANA developer edition from rev 48 to rev 56 by following the guideline http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-30980.
I have also upgraded the HANA studio to version 56 from the source installer in dir /sap/update. Initially I was able to connect to the HANA DB, I could see the green light of the icon, and could also see all the tables and etc. But then after a while, it was disconnected. I closed the HANA Studio, and opened again, tried to add the new system, and the same thing happened again; successfully connected then disconnected after a while. I checked the error log, there is this message "Database connection is not available".
Detail error log
What could be the problem here? I'm runnning the HANA Studio on a 64-bit windows 8 from my home network. There is no special restriction in my home network, meaning that all ports are open.
Please advise. Thank you.
regards,
Idi Kurniawan
An update here,
I uninstalled hana studio 56, and reinstall the 48 version. The hana studio successfully connected to the hana system rev56 on aws.
but the problem now is that I don't see the workshop content. I've reimported the content workshop and workshop-uis, but still no luck.
Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Idi

The imported content won't work on Version 48
You need atleast Rev 52 or above to work with these files
This is the reason pwople are advised not to use 30 day developer trial on cloudshare as it is still on Rev 48
Many things are not supported in Rev 48 thats why everyone was advised to update their HANA DB to Rev 56
Are you using 32 bit HANA Studio then
The most important thing is that Regi.exe file doesn't support 32 bit HANA Studio so you will have to install 64 bit Studio only :
You can download 64 bit HANA Studio and HANA Client Rev 56 from here and try reinstalling them without uninstalling the 32 bit version and see how that works :

Another update here.
After some communication with Thomas Jung in this thread,
http://scn.sap.com/thread/3371514
The appearance of Content folder is just as simple as setting up Customize View in HANA System/Navigator. Quoting Thomas,
In the SAP HANA Systems view/Navigator, click the triangle in the upper right corner. Choose Customize View. On the Content tab, select the Content folder. Then you will see the Content folder in your hierarchy.
So far my HANA Developer system on AWS is running well with below combination,
Client Rev 48 - Studio Rev 48 -> connected to HANA Developer Rev 56
