Maxdb backup in windows and restoration in Linux

Hi,

We have ECC6 installation with MAXDB 7.7 on Windows 2008 Enterprise edition.

We have taken Database backup of maxdb with Databae studio in windows.

We have another ECC6 installation with MAXDB 7.7 in Linux RHEL.

Can I restore the back up taken on windows 2008 in Linux for MAXDB 7.7.

Plz help me.

it should be possible.

Please have a look at this, too, it states the same

Hi,

As per my understanding it will not work as MaxDB libraries will be different in both the environments.

Best approach would be to exprot the database and import it into Linux ( if it is a one time activity)
