ATP check with special procurement key

Hi,

-During the ATP check at sales order creation level, the system does not take a special procurement into account. This leads to an incorrect replenishment lead time.

-There are two plants-Production Plant and Dispatch Plant.

-The sales order is entered at the Dispatch Plant.

-Special procurement key 40 (procurement from alternate plant) with alternate plant as Production Plant has been maintained in material of Dispatch Plant.

-Planning Strategy 20 is used for Dispatch plant and Planning Strategy 40 is used for Production Plant.

-Before transfer of material from Production Plant to Dispatch Plant, packing activity is carried out based on sales order requirement. For this activity lead time is 2 days. But if the stock is not available at Production Plant, In-house production time is 6 days. We have maintained Replenishment Lead Time as 2 days in Dispatch Plant and RLT in Production Plant is maintained as 6 days.

-Now at the time of sales order creation, during availability check, irresepective of Special Procurement Key entered for a material at Dispatch Plant level, the delivery date is scheduled to 2 days, which is incorrect.

Test Case:

Material-93

Dispatch Plant-1011

Production Plant-1001

Sales Order Number-105

Plant 1001

->Procurement Type: 'E';In-house Production time-6 days;Planning Strategy-40

Plant 1011

->Procurement Type:'F';GR Processing Time-2 days;Planning Strategy-20 SPK-40 (alt plant-1001)

This material is procured from alternate plant and this is specified in the system through Special Procurement Key 40 (proc. from

plant 1001). If Special Procurement Key points towards plant 1001 then shouldn't the system at the time of availability check read data

maintained for material 93 in plant 1001 (in our case, 6 days maintained in the in-house production time in plant 1001) and not plant 1011 &

propose delivery date accordingly??

The material lies in unpacked form in plant 1001. The sales order comes for this material at plant 1011 always. Packing of the material takes 2

days. Now if the material is available at plant 1001 then ATP should propose delivery lead time as 2 days and if the stock is unavailable at

plant 1001 then the lead time should come as 6 days.

We have referred to following SAP Notes:

196026;0000182516;0000187961;0000196026;0000327309;0000410893 but could not find a suitable solution.

Thanks,

Anil.

Anil,

If Special Procurement Key points towards plant 1001 then shouldn't the system at the time of availability check read data  maintained for material 93 in plant 1001 (in our case, 6 days maintained in the in-house production time in plant 1001) and not plant 1011 & propose delivery date accordingly??

No, this requirement is not supported in standard SAP ECC availability checking.

Some companies use enhancements to support this requirement.  Also, APO GATP can be configured to support this requirement without enhancement.

For companies where enhancement is not desired; and APO is not an option, they sometimes choose to exclude Replenishment Lead time from the ATP check used by the Distribution center (you call it the 'Dispatch Plant').  The new Sales orders can then only be confirmed once planning is done in the Distribution Center and in the Production plant, and appropriate Stock Transport Orders have subsequently been created in the Distribution center.

Another workaround to consider is to remove the SPK from the DC Material Master; and change the DC material master to "E" procurement type.  At this point, you can then use Total Replenishment Lead time to control ATP (Rather than Planned Delivery Time).   MRP will produce Planned orders instead of Purchase requisitions.  These Planned orders can be converted to Purchase Requisitions; which are sourced by creation of a Purchase info record pointing to the Production Plant.

Thanks for the reply.

We do not have option of APO for our client.

Can you please provide some enhancement for the above issue?

No.  It is my policy not to provide details about enhancements in these forums, for a number of reasons.

A senior ABAPer in your company should be able to create an enhancement that accommodates your business requirement(s).  You may wish to direct their attention to program RV03VFZZ as a starting point; there are other areas of opportunity as well.

.

As with any development, write up the specifications of the functionality you want, and hand it off to your local ABAP team.  If sufficient ABAP expertise does not exist locally, you may wish to consider engaging an external resource.

Best Regards,
