Hi ,
I have reporting requirement for my company vice- president through my manager.
Requirement: Vice president want to know the sales in each country globally without opening the SAP Mob ipad or dashboard or webi report nor the scheduled reports in his\her inbox.
1. Something like the scrolling updates which we see in stock exchange news live updates.
2. Something like a scrolling bar running in his laptop or ipad or mob saying country and net profit..flashing updates
3. Something which can be intergrated to laptop screensaver
Please help how to accomplish this.
Thanks,
Perialt
Hi Lavanya,
You can create an Dashboard using Dashboard designer with ticker component that country and sales value and any other details required on dashbaord and configure it as desktop widgets. Below are few references on dashboards as widgets and dashboards with live data feeds to show up to date sales info.

Hi Lavanya,
you need to give Hostname as just the BO servername/IP without any ports and check if you are using the right authentication type for your server.
Refer to step 2 in below article
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-41093
If you give proper details as mentioned above you should be able to connect.
Also check if your host file located at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc has the BO server details as below
BO server IP | Bo Server name | |
127.0.0.1 | bobjdev |
Thanks

Mallik,
Thanks for your reply. Host issue is resolved and URL is connected successfully.
But I am facing the below error,
Cannot connect to the host.
login.exception (Error:WSE 99998)
The argument has an invalid value en_IN
Please suggest me how to resolve this issue.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks,

Hi Lavanya,
What is your version of BO including service pack and patch levels. Below is the issue logged in with SAP and shows fixed under SAP BO 4.0 Sp5 in Support and Feature Pack Release Notes - SAP BusinessObjects Intelligence suite 4.0. try and change your windows regional format settings its possible else upgrade to SP5 or above (I suggest SP6 patch1 since it has most of the fixes covered)
ADAPT01642540
When users attempt to login to BI Widgets where the Windows Regional Settings -> Format is set to English
(India), the following error occurs: Cannot connect to the Host. login exception login exception (Error: WSE
99998). The argument has an invalid value en_IN
The cause of the problem is that the SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform host did not recognize the regional format
English (India).
This problem is resolved.
Thanks

Hi lavanya,
You can try creating widgets on his laptop for any of the existing dashboards or webi report parts where this information is already existing and using the settings make it refresh every few mins
Please read the below for step by step process of configuring widgets
