Sun OS to Suse Linux Migration in SAP

Hi Experts,

We going for migration from SUN OS to Sue Linux in our SAP Envvironment.

Please suggest the documentation & Process & Guides for these Migration Activity

Hello,

It is an Hetegeneous copy.

You can do it with export/ import (R3trans), or if you need to do it in very short downtime, you have some standard tools like migmon (which alows you import and export in //) or distribution monitor (same as migmon but you can use some additionnal server to increase speed).

Hi Kiran!

SAP TDMS is not to be used to system migrations but to copy systems within the same solution landscape and only non-productive systems as target. But you can always do it as long as it works and the software application support that combination. Please check the links mention bellow.

If you really posted in the right forum and your objective is to copy your production system in Solaris to a new development system running in linux using TDMS you should:

1. create a new SHELL SYSTEM (there's a guide for it)

2. execute a TimeBased Reduction for SAP ERP

3. run the posts (you can check the system copy guide as reference)
