config idoc adapter - RFC destination?

while configuring the idoc adpater ( in FILe to idoc scenario)do i need to write the

rfc destination of r/3 system of netweaver xi systems

2. do we need to create the same port in we21 and idx1

3. is it necessary to give the gateway host and service in r/3 and xi

even if not used when made thru test connection it was successfully connected

Create RFC destination in XI on SM59 . This should point to the SAP system. Use this in the Idoc adapter

Create a port in IDx1 in XI.

We21 is used to create a port in SAP systems. For file to Idoc, no need of a port in We21.

No need for Gateway host and service if there is a direct connection between XI and the SAP system.

Sent/Receive IDOC:

you need to do the following:

In XI

SM59 - R3 connection pointing to R3

IDX1 - define the port with the above dest.

In R3

SM59 - R3 connection pointing to XI

WE21 - define the port with the above dest.

WE20 - Partner profile type outbound/Inbound

Hi,

Yes you need to configure RFC Destination

Need not to create same port in We21 and idx1.

need not to give gateway and service in r3 and xi.
