Java System Auto-Shutdown: license check failed -> shutdown the instance

Hi Experts,

I am facing a strange issue on SAP Netweaver 7.0 Java System SP26.

The java system automatically goes down approx every 30 mins after startup with the following error in dev_jcontrol:

JControlICheckProcessList: license check failed

JControlMainLoop: license check failed -> shutdown the instance

I am already aware of this scenario, that the Licenses are not valid or might have expired.

So I have validated the licenses in Viz Admin --> Licensing Adapter.

The hardware key got changed due to the change in the MAC Address ( System is running on Virtualized Linux)

So I ordered for a new SAP License Key with the new H/W key and applied it.

In the licensing adapter, all the licenses seem to be valid now, however the Java System goes down every 30 mins with the above error.

I am trying to understand, why is the check in license getting failed, if the both the licenses (NetWeaver_ORA & Maintenance_ORA) are valid.

Is it somewhere else too, that I need to bring this change of H/W Key.

Regards,

Akshay.

Hi Akshay

1. Are you using the Dual stack? if it yes mention you have to apply in the ABAP stack  by using the  T code slicense

2. Could pls check the H/w key which you are request same one or different?

Kindly check and confirm the same

Thanks

Sriram

Hi All,

I just observed that the new license applied (not by me ) was for Netweaver_ORA, which is for ABAP based systems or Dual-Stack systems. Where as, for pure Java systems, license type required is J2EE-Engine_ORA.

So I have applied the new license with J2EE-Engine_ORA, and monitoring the system, if the issue persists.

I feel so, that should be resolved now, will update the status soon.

Thanks for providing your feedbacks.

Regards,

Akshay.

Hi ,

Are system number is same?

Have you installed  license as per Note 607141

#94998 - "Requesting license keys and deleting systems"

#870871 - "License key installation"

607141 - License key request for SAP J2EE Engine

731673 - License key for SAP J2EE Engine invalid

Hi Prem,

Thanks for your response.

We have resolved this by correcting the License Type as mentioned in the above comment

I just observed that the new license applied (not by me) was for NetWeaver_ORA which is for ABAP Based systems or Dual Stack systems. Where as, for pure Java Systems the required license type is J2EE-Engine_ORA.

So I have applied the new license with Software Type J2EE-Engine_ORA and now monitoring the system.

The system is up and running fine now.

Regards,

Akshay.
