OverHead cost calculation in sales order

Former Member

Hello Friends,

Scenario:

While raising a sales order, entered a VC machine at the item level. The costing for this VC machine has already been calculated.

It’s a MTO process.

Production order is raised against the sales order.

When I tried to simulate the same scenario in our testing client, I am not able the get the overhead cost as that of the above mentioned scenario.

Request you please clarify on the below points?

  1. How the overhead cost associated with sales order?
  2. How it is been calculated and what’s the flow (from where it is flowing)

If possible please explain step by step, so that I can stimulate the sales order along with overhead cost in my testing client.

Hi,

Generally the Overhead cost is calculated based on the costing sheet

you have to validate the item category in the test system

1. item category will be used to determine the requirement type in the sales order

2. Requirement type is assigned to the requirement class

3. In the requirement class configuration, check whether any costing sheet assigned or not

This could be the main reason for overhead not determining at the sales orders

Apart from the above configuration also check

overhead costing sheet whether required configuration already in place for costing sheet

under overhead configuration you have to check

1. overhead cost elements

2. costing sheets

3. overhead keys

you can check the overhead configuration under the navigation path

SPRO-->CONTROLLING-->PRODUCT COST CONTROLLING-->PRODUCT COST BY SALES ORDER-->OVERHEAD-->

compare these settings between your test and production environment

most probably , in the test system your requirement type determined could be different than that of production

thanks
