Hi,
We have various measures in universe,
example percentages which have divisor operator in them,, counts which have a distinct operator.
Results display fine when results on report match the result sin query i.e. no projection aggregation.
Understand in past versions of bo percentages in universes could cause this behaviour due to projection aggregation.
have heard people talk about smart measures - not sure if this of any help here.
Anybody any thoughts?
thanks
Hi Phil,
Smart measures are the ones which have projection aggregate set as "Database Delegated" which in turn results measure to be calculated by the database itself
If you want to use smart measures, you would have pain associated while creating adhoc reports or in pulling objects to the existing reports that have smart measures in the layout. It would throw #TOREFRESH or #UNAVAILABLE error when you add new objects to the layout or block with smart measures, when you refresh the report again data for measures get populated.
Refer to chapter #5 in the below guide for complete details on smart measures.

Hi Philip,
take a look at following document:
SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 What's New L2: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-40283
It shows following enhancement for smart measures:

Hi All,
Playing around with these samrt measures and like fact says #TOREFRESH remininding need to refresh if change the report.
However on a report have tried this one some rows say #TOREFRESH ,s omedon't
query panel has 2 dimesnions + the measure and first report data shows O.K.
When try create second report with just the one dismension and measures some of the rows say #TOREFRESH, some actuually display a value - is this becuase it feels it can caluclate those rows without going back to database?
Was expecting all rows on second report to show #TOREFRESH.
From reading the notes supplied by Malik, look to be a lot of drawbacks - often showing #UNAVAILABLE etc when used with formulas.
Thanks
if you only have one dimension in the query panel and one in the table then you should not see a #TOREFRESH.
If you have two dimensions in the Query Panel and use only one in the table, then some of the rows could display the actual value if the relationship between the dimensions is 1-1.
Summarizing: If Webi is able to calculate with the results from the query panel, it will display the key figure. Else it will kindly ask you to refresh again with a #TOFRESH (in the background there is more than one statement going to the DB in this case)
Best regards,
Victor
