Free of Charge Orders : Statistical Pricing Vs No pricing

Hi Forum

In case of free of charge orders ( for replacements etc ), what is the driving factor to decide if we should do no pricing at the item category ( as in TANN ) or allow pricing, but mark the pricing as statistical at the item category ? What requirements would drive one approach as against the other ?

Would appreciate your inputs

Hello Rohit,

It really depends on your scenario if you require to see the value for a particular condition type  but not charge the customer for the same(statistical)

Example---Say freight is not charged to the customer but you want to see in every order how much it is costing you.

Free of charge is pretty self explanatory if you are sending samples to the customer you would not require pricing--- could be one of the examples.

Hi Rohit,

Just to add on, it also mainly depends on the Country and its associated scenario you are operating in, for example in Indian scenarios, though you might be sending replacement products with No Pricing - the Sender is still liable to pay Excise TAXES  and hence you may still be required to capture the taxes part with Pricing as Statistical. - In this Case definitely Statistical Pricing option need to be followed.

Hi Rohit,

Actually, there can be below reasons to determine or not to determine Pricing:

1) If due to Sales BOM functionality used, any Line item has been updated just information Perspective or as Text Items, It's Pricing showing in Sales Order does not make sense.

In that case, You may prefer to go for No Pricing Option.

2) If it is clear that Samples are going to be sell to the Customer and You don't want Pricing is of no Concern. You may prefer to go for No pricing.

3) If you are giving Buy 10 Get 2 Free type of Free Goods Scheme, You want to put Budget Control on Free Item Discount Amount, In that case you needs to determine the Price and make it Zero by 100 % Discount condition type.

So you may go for Standard Pricing Option.

4) Any other business Scenario, where you need to control the Budget even though Product is free or You want tracking of amount in G/L or in any other Reporting, you may prefer to go for Standard Pricing.

Hi,

There are two concepts here 1.Free Goods 2.Replacements

Free goods can be done as per the standard Free goods concept

Replacement is also Free concept but here there is no need to incorporate TANN item category ,you can just create a new pricing procedure for Replacements with all condition types marked as Stastical in the pricing procedure.
